Jasmine Camero (she/her/ella)

I am a Mexican-American first-generation mathematician from Santa Ana, California. I earned my B.A. in Mathematics from California State University, Fullerton in 2020, my M.S. in Mathematics from Emory University in 2024, and my Ph.D. in Mathematics from Emory University in 2026 under the supervision of Bianca Viray.

Beginning in Fall 2026, I will join the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Pomona College as a Visiting Assistant Professor.

My research lies in arithmetic geometry, particularly in the study of rational and higher-degree points on algebraic curves. Broadly speaking, I am interested in how the geometry of a curve governs the arithmetic behavior of its solutions.

Beyond research, I am deeply committed to mentorship, teaching, and expanding access to mathematics. During graduate school, I served as Editor-in-Chief for the MAA Graduate Student Blog: Learning Through the Ranks, and as President and Co-Founder of the Emory University Student Chapter of the Association for Women in Mathematics. You can find more in my CV.

I am passionate about supporting all underrepresented groups in STEM. My mission is to build an equitable and inclusive community and cultivate environments that amplify the voices of people of color in STEM.
